The seeds of Grace Fellowship Church extend back to 1995 when a few families started meeting in a home. Their desire was to meet together for Sunday worship while seeking God’s wisdom as to a new church that would be marked by a commitment to the Doctrines of Grace, obedience to the Word of God, a commitment to prayer, and a zeal to see God glorified and honored in all things.

During that time, under the leadership and Bible teaching of Wayne Fullerton, the small group became convinced that God would be pleased for them to take the necessary steps to plant a new church. Taking steps in that direction, Pastor Greg Johnson was called to pastor the new work in August of 1997.

Since our beginning, God has been faithful to bless the work of ministry, add to our numbers, grant us spiritual growth, and increase our love and devotion to Him. God has also been faithful to always provide for the needs of the work of ministry at Grace. In December of 1997, God provided a place for public worship on the Lord’s Day at Weddington Swim and Racquet Club. In August of 1998, the church was able to fully support Pastor Greg and thus allow him to give full time to the work of ministry. In February of 2003, the church moved to the Matthews Community Center for worship on the Lord’s Day. As further testimony of God’s provision and goodness, in September of 2009, God graciously and providentially provided permanent property and facilities in Indian Trail, NC. By His grace and the strength He supplies, we pray God will continue to bless our labor for the sake of His Name in making disciples and spreading the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is preeminent over all.

Since Grace Fellowship Church began, God’s work has been evident, and we praise Him for His goodness. It is exciting to consider the work our Lord may be pleased to perform through this local body of believers in the future. Our desire and prayer is that He will be honored every step of the way and receive all the glory to Himself. Grace Fellowship Church is committed to establishing those ministries which glorify and honor our Triune God and support our purpose and commitments. Our ultimate purpose at Grace Fellowship Church is to glorify God in all respects and to exalt His holy name. With Christ as our Head, the Bible as our sole authority, and evangelism and disciple-making as our mission, Grace Fellowship Church seeks to fulfill the purpose Christ gave to His church to the praise of God’s glorious grace.
